AIR RAIDS: 28TH DECEMBER

31ST DECEMBER 1937.

I beg to report the following aerial attacks by enemy

planes and damage sustained by the Railway between 27th and 31st

December 1937.

28TH DECEMBER.

CHEUNG MUK TOU

-

LUM TOUN. At 13. 10 hours the Railway

was attacked by 2 enemy planes. 1 bomb was dropped behind the

Cheung Muk Tou station damaging 3 pairs of rail and 15 sleepers

on the 4th road. The station building was also damaged and

telegraph and telephone wires interrupted. 2 bombs were

dropped at Km. 98.8, 1 at Km. 98/10, 1 at Km. 98/16 and 2 between Km. 104/2 and 104/3, but without damage to the Railway.

Repairs were immediately put in hand.

TU TONG CHEUNG MUK TOU. At about 15.20 hours the

Railway was again ætacked by 2 enemy planes when 4 bombs were

dropped between Km. 94/8 and 94/15 damaging 3 pairs of rail and

all the telegraph wires.

Repairs were immediately carried out.

29TH DECEMB K.

CHEUNG MUK TOU - LUM TSUN. Between 10.40 and 11. 15 hours

3 enemy planes bombed the kailway and dropped 1 bomb at Km. 100/0,

1 at Km. 101/7, 1 at Km. 101/15, 1 at Km. 104/10, without any

damage to the Railway. 1 bomb was droppedat Km. 103/15 damaging

all the telegraph wires, and 1 at Km. 105/16 damaging 1 ral.

The Lum Teun station building was also slightly damaged.

Repairs were immediately carried out.
